Description

This Oreo Lasagna Chocolate Dessert is a decadent no-bake layered treat that combines a crunchy Oreo crust, a creamy cream cheese filling with Oreo chunks, a rich chocolate pudding layer, and a fluffy Cool Whip topping finished with a sprinkle of crushed Oreos. Perfect for chocolate and Oreo lovers, it’s an easy-to-make dessert that requires chilling rather than baking, making it a cool and creamy indulgence for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 48 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 10 tablespoons salted butter, melted

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 12 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 Oreo cookies, finely crushed

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 3 cups half and half or whole milk
  • 7.8 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 6 Oreo cookies, finely crushed

Topping

  • 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
  • 12 Oreo cookies, finely crushed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: In a large mixing bowl, combine 48 finely crushed Oreo cookies with the melted salted butter. Stir the mixture until it resembles damp sand. Press the mixture evenly into the base of a 9×13 inch baking dish to form a compact crust. Chill this crust layer in the refrigerator while preparing the remaining layers to help it set firmly.
  2. Mix the Cream Cheese Filling: Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add 8 ounces of thawed Cool Whip and the vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated. Gently fold in 6 finely crushed Oreo cookies. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled crust. Return the dish to the refrigerator to chill this layer as well.
  3. Create the Pudding Layer: In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of half and half or whole milk with the instant chocolate pudding mix until the pudding thickens according to package instructions. Fold in 6 finely crushed Oreo cookies. Spread this pudding mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer and place the dish back in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes to slightly set the pudding layer.
  4. Add the Topping and Chill: Spread the remaining 8 ounces of thawed Cool Whip evenly over the pudding layer. Sprinkle 12 finely crushed Oreo cookies over the top for garnish. Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours to allow all layers to fully set and meld together before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and whole milk or half and half to achieve a richer texture and flavor.
  • Make sure all layers are well chilled before adding the next to ensure clear, distinct layers in the final dessert.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator, which enhances the flavor as the layers meld.
  • Oreo cookies can be finely crushed using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed plastic bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  • If desired, garnish the top with mini Oreo halves or chocolate shavings for added presentation.
