Ingredients
Scale
Ice Cream Base
- 2 cups oat milk
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder
Milkshake Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oat milk
- 2–3 tablespoons chocolate syrup (preferably lower-sugar or sugar-free)
Instructions
- Whisk Ice Cream Base: In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of oat milk, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and vanilla protein powder until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Freeze Mixture: Pour the ice cream base mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Seal the container and place it in the freezer for 12 to 24 hours to thoroughly freeze the base.
- Add Milk and Chocolate Syrup: After freezing, remove the pint container from the freezer. Open the lid and add 1/2 cup of oat milk and 2 to 3 tablespoons of chocolate syrup on top of the frozen base.
- First Spin on Milkshake Setting: Replace the lid and place the container in the Ninja Creami machine. Select the milkshake setting and allow the machine to process the ingredients into a creamy milkshake.
- Stir and Re-Spin: Remove the container from the machine and give the milkshake a good stir to incorporate all ingredients evenly. Then, place it back into the machine and spin once again on the milkshake setting for optimal smoothness.
- Serve Immediately: The milkshake will be thick initially but will melt quickly into a rich, creamy consistency perfect for drinking. Serve right away and enjoy!
Notes
- Freeze the mixture for the full 12-24 hours for best texture.
- Use lower-sugar or sugar-free chocolate syrup to reduce added sugar content.
- Feel free to substitute peanut butter with other nut butters like almond or cashew.
- Ensure the protein powder is whey or plant-based depending on dietary preferences.
- For a colder milkshake, chill the oat milk before adding in step 3.
- The Ninja Creami machine is essential for the smooth milkshake texture in this recipe.
