Description

These Mummy Rice Krispie Treats are a fun and spooky twist on the classic sticky snack, perfect for Halloween or themed parties.   • 5 1/2 cups mini marshmallows or 1 10 oz. bag of mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • 8 oz. white chocolate; melted or melting candy
  • 20 candy eyeballs or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marshmallow mixture: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth.
  2. Combine with cereal: Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir thoroughly until all the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  3. Press into baking pan: Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Transfer the mixture into the pan and press down evenly using a buttered spatula or buttered wax paper, which helps prevent sticking. Refrigerate the pan for 10 minutes to allow the treats to harden slightly.
  4. Cut into pieces: After chilling, use a sharp knife to cut the Rice Krispie treats into 10 rectangular servings for the mummy shapes.
  5. Melt white chocolate: Place the white chocolate or melting candy in a microwave-safe bowl and melt according to the package instructions, usually heating in short bursts and stirring between until smooth.
  6. Attach candy eyeballs: Dab a small amount of melted white chocolate on the back of each candy eyeball and press it onto each cut Rice Krispie treat to create the mummy’s eyes. Repeat for all 10 treats.
  7. Create mummy wraps: Transfer the remaining melted white chocolate to a ziplock bag and snip a tiny corner to make a piping bag. Drizzle the chocolate randomly over the treats to mimic the look of mummy wraps. Allow the chocolate to set; refrigerate if you want the chocolate to harden faster.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Once the chocolate has set, your Mummy Rice Krispie Treats are ready to be served as a festive and delicious dessert.
