Ingredients
Scale
Protein and Vegetables
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
Sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 tbsp sriracha sauce
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
Other Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Sauté Broccoli: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli and sauté for 3–4 minutes until just tender. Remove broccoli from skillet and set aside.
- Cook Ground Chicken: Add remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Add ground chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes.
- Add Garlic: Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add Sauce and Simmer: Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and stir to coat evenly. Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Combine Broccoli and Chicken: Return the sautéed broccoli to the skillet and toss everything together until well coated with the sauce and heated through.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top before serving. Enjoy warm with steamed rice or noodles if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute ground chicken with ground turkey or lean ground pork if preferred.
- Use tamari instead of soy sauce to make this dish gluten-free.
- Adjust the amount of sriracha and red pepper flakes according to your preferred spice level.
- For a nuttier flavor, you can toast the sesame seeds before garnishing.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
