  • Diet: Keto, Gluten Free

Description

This Garlic Keto Naan Bread recipe offers a low-carb, gluten-free alternative to traditional naan, combining melted mozzarella, almond flour, and flavorful garlic butter for a soft, delicious bread perfect for keto diets.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough Ingredients

  • 1¾ cups pre-shredded/grated mozzarella
  • ¾ cup almond meal/flour
  • 2 tbsp natural unsweetened yoghurt
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tbsp baking powder

Topping Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 191°C (375°F) to prepare for baking the naan bread.
  2. Melt Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, lightly mix together mozzarella, almond flour, and yogurt. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, then microwave for an additional 30 seconds until melted and combined.
  3. Combine Egg Mixture: In a separate small bowl, mix the egg and baking powder thoroughly.
  4. Make the Dough: Fold the egg mixture into the melted cheese mixture with a silicone spatula or spoon until fully combined into a dough.
  5. Shape the Naan: Divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten with your hands to an oval shape about 8mm (1/4 inch) thick. Arrange flattened pieces evenly spaced on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake the Naan: Place the baking sheet on the top rack of the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges begin to turn golden brown.
  7. Prepare Garlic Butter: While the naan bakes, mix melted butter, garlic powder, and chopped parsley together to make the garlic butter brush.
  8. Brush and Finish Baking: Remove the naan from the oven, brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each piece, then return to the oven for an additional 1-2 minutes to golden the tops.
  9. Serve Warm: Remove naan from the oven and serve warm for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • Make sure to use pre-shredded mozzarella for easy melting and consistent texture.
  • Almond flour helps keep this recipe keto-friendly and gluten-free.
  • Flatten the dough evenly for uniform baking and texture.
  • Keep an eye on the naan during the final bake to avoid over-browning.
  • This naan bread pairs well with keto curries or can be enjoyed as a snack.
