  • Author: Simon
  • Total Time: 50-55 minutes
  • Yield: 16 bars 1x

Description

These Easter Blondies are a delightful and festive treat perfect for celebrating the holiday. Packed with sweet M&M’s candy and a rich, buttery base, they offer a chewy texture combined with colorful bursts of flavor. Simple to prepare and baked to golden perfection, these blondies make an ideal dessert or snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Blondie Base

  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Mix-ins

  • 1 1/2 cups M&M’s candy (any variety)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until smooth and fully combined.
  2. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and kosher salt into the wet mixture. Fold everything together gently until the dry ingredients are just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Incorporate Candy: Fold in the M&M’s candy evenly throughout the dough ensuring the colorful candies are distributed well.
  4. Prepare the Baking Dish: Line a 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal later. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan, making sure it’s level.
  5. Bake: Place the pan in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The blondies should be golden on top and a toothpick inserted near the center should come out with a few moist crumbs but not wet batter.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the blondies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, lift them out using the parchment paper overhang and cut into 16 bars.

Notes

  • Ensure not to overbake; blondies should be moist inside but cooked through.
  • You can use any variety or size of M&M’s, but standard size works best for even distribution.
  • Make sure to line the baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal and clean edges.
  • Room temperature eggs will help the batter combine better.
  • Store blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
