Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Boil pasta in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water for later use.
  2. Prepare Steak: Season the thinly sliced steak generously with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak slices for about 2 to 3 minutes per side until they are browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Reduce heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until the garlic becomes aromatic and slightly golden but not burnt.
  4. Deglaze and Simmer: Pour in the beef broth to deglaze the skillet, scraping any browned bits stuck to the bottom with a wooden spoon. Let the broth simmer for about 2 minutes to reduce slightly and develop flavor.
  5. Build Cream Sauce: Add the heavy cream and grated parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir constantly and allow the sauce to simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until it thickens to a creamy consistency. If you like a bit of heat, stir in crushed red pepper flakes at this stage.
