  • Yield: Serves 6-8 as an appetizer 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A creamy and tangy Cranberry Whipped Feta Dip elevated with a sweet and spicy hot honey drizzle, perfect for serving with crackers or pita chips as a delightful appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip

  • 200g (7 oz) block feta cheese, drained
  • 100g (3.5 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Hot Honey Drizzle

  • 3 tbsp honey (divided: 2 tbsp + 1 tbsp)
  • 1 garlic clove, smashed
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Toppings & Serving

  • 23 tbsp cranberry sauce or jam
  • Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish
  • Crackers or pita chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare Hot Honey: In a small saucepan, combine 2 tbsp honey, smashed garlic, and red pepper flakes. Heat gently over low heat for 2–3 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Remove from heat, stir in the remaining 1 tbsp honey, and allow the mixture to cool.
  2. Blend the Feta Dip: In a food processor, combine the drained feta cheese, softened cream cheese, and lemon juice. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. While blending, drizzle in the olive oil gradually, continuing to blend until the dip is fluffy and well combined.
  3. Assemble the Dip: Transfer the whipped feta mixture into a serving bowl. Use a spoon to create a swirl or slight well in the center of the dip for presentation.
  4. Add Toppings: Spoon the cranberry sauce or jam into the center of the swirl. Drizzle the prepared hot honey generously over the dip and cranberry topping to add a warm, sweet, and spicy contrast.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the top for a fragrant herbal note. Serve immediately alongside crackers or pita chips for dipping.

Notes

  • Ensure the feta cheese is well drained to prevent the dip from becoming watery.
  • The lemon juice is optional but adds a nice brightness to the dip.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes for desired spiciness in the hot honey.
  • This dip can be made a few hours ahead; store refrigerated and bring to room temperature before serving.
  • For a smoother texture, strain out the garlic from the hot honey after heating if preferred.
