Broccoli Salad with Grapes Recipe

  • Author: Simon
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing and crunchy broccoli salad featuring sweet grapes, tangy balsamic dressing, and crunchy pecans. This no-cook salad is perfect as a healthy side dish or light snack, combining fresh vegetables and fruits with a creamy, slightly sweet dressing for a well-balanced flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Salad Dressing

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (traditional or white balsamic)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Salad

  • 1 pound fresh broccoli, sliced into small 1/2″ florets (about 4 cups)
  • 2 cups red or green grapes, halved
  • 1/3 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Make the dressing: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, balsamic vinegar, and sugar. Whisk or stir until the sugar is dissolved and the dressing is smooth.
  2. Mix the salad ingredients: Add the sliced broccoli florets, halved grapes, and finely diced red onion to the bowl with the dressing. Toss well to ensure all pieces are evenly coated with the dressing.
  3. Add pecans and chill: Stir in the chopped pecans, reserving a few for garnish on top. Cover and refrigerate the salad until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld and the broccoli to soften slightly, about 1 hour. Stir again just before serving and sprinkle the reserved pecans over the top. Enjoy!

Notes

  • This salad is best served chilled and is a great make-ahead dish for potlucks or family gatherings.
  • You can substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds if preferred.
  • For a healthier option, use a light or low-fat mayonnaise.
  • Red or green grapes both work well; choose seedless for comfort.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar according to taste.
  • Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper if desired to enhance flavor.
